Plan B Performing Live

Plan B Event Flyer

If you do not get the chance to see Plan B at La Covacha tomorrow night, or your just too far from Miami, you can see them at West Palm Beach. Plan B, the group that many young urban music and reggaeton fans love, will be able to dance away with them for the pre-sale price of $20. For the most part, reggaeton artists usually perform in Dade County (Miami) or in Broward County, but West Palm also get their due respect as well when it comes to well known reggaeton artists.

Some of their best tracks and most likely to enjoy at the concert are:
  • Te Dijeron
  • Si No Le Contesto
  • Porque Te Demoras
  • Frikitona
  • La Nena De Papi
  • Solos
  • Mis Canciones Hablan De Sexo
  • Es Un Secreto
  • Buscando Calor
  • Apreta En La Disco
These last tracks above are not including their newest ones they have been a part of. Here are their best latest tracks this year:
  •  Llevo Tras De Ti
  • Se Cree Mala
  • La Formula Sigue
Here the video for one of their hit songs, which by the way currently has 27,434,388 views on YouTube. Released in April 2011:

Plan B and Rakim y Ken-Y at La Covacha

Plan B - Rakim & Ken-Y Event Flyer

This event will be held at La Covacha, one of the best and longest running club in Miami for young adults 18 and over. For the most part, people prefer to see artists inside the club but La Covacha does theirs outside. The result is, more people show up and the artists are more willing to come because it's a bigger stage for them to get noticed and of course get money. Would you rather an artist perform inside or outside the club?

"La Formula" under the artists in the flyer is the name of the new album in which Plan B and Rakim & Ken-Y are one of the artists that contribute to it. The other artists that make up "La Formula" are Zion y Lennox, Arcangel and Lobo. Important to note, that Rakim & Ken-Y are a duo (meaning they sing together) so are Zion y Lennox and Plan B.

Rakim y Ken-Y (in spanish) also known as "el duo romantico" (the romantic duo) and  are known for less hardcore rap reggaeton, and more for slow jams or with a message regarding love in some way in their songs. Here's their last hit and video for their song "Cuando Te Enamores"

Plan B is made up of 2 artists, their names being Chencho y Maldy. Very well recognized world-wide in the genre of urban music and reggaeton just like Rakim y Ken-Y, both duos are from Puerto Rico. One of my favorite songs of all time are from these to groups collaborating together. Its called "Tuve Un Sueño" (I Had A Dream) released in September 2009:

Daddy Yankee "Prestige" Review

Daddy Yankee's New Album "Prestige" Cover

The most influential urban artist in the last decade just released his latest album"Prestige" on 9/11/12. It contains 18 tracks, in which 4 made it mainstream:
  • 5. Pasarela
  • 8. Llegamos A La Disco
  • 16. Lovumba
  • 17. Ven Conmigo
Overall, the album did not have much variety, but it's filled with great reggaeton songs as expected. Daddy Yankee goes hard on his delivery and brings out lots of energy in his songs. You could definitely see some of his songs playing in the club and living rooms. Out of the 18 tracks, 12 of them have the download factor (the want of the song having to be downloaded) star next to them:
  • 2. Miss Show = 8.5
  • 3. Pon T Loca = 7.5
  • 4. El Amante = 8
  • 7. La Noche De Los 2 = 7
  • 10. Limbo = 8
  • 12. After Party = 7.5
  • 14. Mas Que Un Amigo = 7.5
  • 18. El Party Me Llama = 8.5
*Download Factor Rating is out of 10*
*Only songs with a "DFR" of a 7 or above are listed*

As we can see none of his non-mainstream songs made it to a 9 in the download  factor rating. The grade I would give this album would be a flat "B". It was a solid album that did it's job, not better than expected but did satisfy for the level of Daddy Yankee a.k.a. "The Big Boss". Expect Daddy Yankee's next music video to be on the track Limbo.
